i like to walk around this city.

and just so you know,

i would rather walk twenty blocks in heels
than take a boring subway or bus transfer.

one of my favorite walks:
walking across central park.

the other night,
i wanted to ride my bicycle.
but then,
i was hanging out with this family.

[have i mentioned how much i like this family.]

and i decided to walk home
across the park. because

i could ride my bicycle another day.
and it was at dusk, right before a storm.

you know. the silent part of a storm,
right before the heavy rains come.

when the dry air smells like wet grass.
and the clouds become all whirly twirly.

now, i do like to twirl.

and so i like it when the clouds swirl above me.
with that gust of a breeze. and you tease yourself.
about how the heavy rains could come at any instant.

but the clouds hold it in just for you. like they’re giving you a break.
and so the breeze just gusts all around you. and plays with your hair.

and that was me. the other night.
walking home, across the park.
right in the middle of the gust.

and here. have a look-see at what i found on my walk home.
—–

a concert.
at the amphitheater below the boat house. i sat there for awhile.
because i really like flutes and violins.

 flutes and violins.

i also found
that the construction in front of The Met is finally complete. this is uber exciting.

 construction-free MET.

and this reservoir is always endearing to me.
look at him, just getting all cozy at dusk. and situating himself for a storm. before the storm.

you see, central park is my big city serenity. especially at dusk, right before a storm.
