and i am just so excited to meet you.
even if

you are currently 5degrees cold in newyorkcity
right now.

i suppose, i’ll just
have to unpack myself into warming layers.
because

we need to get to know one another.
in all four and upcoming layered seasons.

no matter the earth’s spin, no matter the changes.
no matter the consistencies, no matter the sorts.

i promise, that i will find joy with you.
and

i will write it down.
on all blank
and hopeful pages.

now yes, 2009.
i liked you, too.

you were
a year of new and churning opportunities.

that ended with such nostalgic joy. while remembering
friends and pasting and stamping the christmas cards.

and then
with the candlelight christmas eve service
while sitting in the sweet pink pews of my childhood.

but you, 2010.
i want you to be

even bolder to me.

and louder.
with even

more
lessons and laughs and challenges.
i want to spin upside down my dreams
with you.

promise me? and

i’ll promise you
to count it all joy.

i think, if we stick to that.
then we’re going to get along great.

but i’m sure
marms will mail us a few cookie-care packages
to get us through the ruts.
